Choosing a Platform for DANAOS Wiki
As we move forward with establishing our company knowledge base for training plans, schematics, courses, and videos, I've been evaluating different platforms to find the right fit.
Our team's recent experience with Notion for internal administration (marketing, sales, contracts, and projects) initially made it seem like a natural choice. While Notion's AI capabilities are appealing, its limitations in user registration, access control, and rights management raised concerns about its suitability as a comprehensive wiki solution.
After exploring various options, I've found Bookstack particularly promising. My previous experiences with platforms like:
- WordPress (content organization wasn't ideal)
- GitBook (accessibility process didn't meet our needs)
- Notion (great for productivity but lacking in wiki-specific features)
have helped clarify what we need in a wiki platform.
I've decided to proceed with Bookstack for our company wiki implementation. I'll document this journey as we build our knowledge base, sharing insights and learnings along the way.
